HFI believes owning, using and carrying a firearm is a heavy burden and possibly one of the single greatest responsibilities never to be taken lightly.
Whether you've never had any experience with a firearm, are a beginning shooter or you are very experienced with your firearm, our goal is to provide quality instruction in the use and safety of firearms. From handgun orientation to the Permit to Carry Weapons or even private lessons to raise your personal skill level, we offer a wide variety of training to meet everyone's needs.
HFI is based in Oskaloosa in Southeast Iowa but we travel throughout the midwest. If your group or gun club or organization would like to arrange a class or instruction in your area contact us today.

Iowa Permit to Carry Weapons Law now "Shall Issue"
I am an Iowa resident and have been an Instructor for 14 years. As one of the founding members of IowaCarry (Iowa Firearms Coalition) who helped bring "Shall Issue" to Iowa. I have dedicated a lot of time to the issue and have worked hard to develop a thorough course.
Our NRA Certified Instructor led training class has been approved by the
Iowa DPS as meeting the requirements towards an Iowa Permit to Carry
Weapons (CCW). When looking for a class consider one that gives
complete information. Our instructor led in person classes go beyond
the NRA Basic Pistol course in order to discuss what you need to
know about issues & laws concerning carrying weapons.
Scheduled or group Iowa Permit to Carry Weapons
classes are $50 per person with no pre-payment req.
